Seppi says the majority of people not going to the doctor are people with insurance.
'Mainly in the younger patients because more the burden is put on them for their health care in terms of higher deductibles and co-pays,' Dr. Seppi said.

But it's safe to say that medical professionals believe prevention is worth a pound of cure. 'For starters, the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics this year is recommending that everyone get a flu shot between the ages of 6 months and 18 years old,' said Dr. Mary Ann Mancano, chairman of the department of pediatrics at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. 'Little children can be germ spreaders and, with the flu, they can have the same level of complications as adults,' Mancano said. When children get the flu, they also become targets for bacterial pneumonia and ear infections that can ultimately lead to hospitalization. 'A person with the flu is going to feel like someone ran them over with a truck,' said Dr. Tom C
