The clinics are open to all adults 18 years and older. This year, there is a full supply of vaccine available so more people than ever can seek protection from the flu.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an annual flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chance of getting the flu, a serious infection of the respiratory tract caused by the influenza virus. Approximately 36,000 people die from the flu each year. The CDC also states that pneumococcal disease kills more people in the U.S. each year than all other vaccine-preventable diseases combined.

Who should get a flu shot?
All adults 18 and older who want to reduce the risk of becoming ill with influenza or transmitting it to others
People who are 50 and older.
People with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease or asthma.
People with weakened immune systems from cancer or HIV/AIDS.
People who live with or provide care for children and adults.
Women who will be pregnant during flu season.

Who should get a pneumonia vaccine?
All adults 65 and older who have not had a pneumonia shot.
Adults 65 and older who received a pneumonia vaccine before their 60th birthday.
People 18 and older with a history of chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease or asthma.
People with weakened immune system from cancer or HIV/AIDS.

How much do the vaccines cost?
Individuals who have Medicare Part B need only bring their card to receive the flu and/or pneumonia vaccine. For all others, the cost for the flu immunization is $33 and the cost for the pneumonia vaccine is $53. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
