Scarlets coach Nigel Davies anguish over MacLeod situation

NIGEL DAVIES has spoken of his anguish for Scotland star Scott MacLeod with the lock forward's career in limbo because of a doping probe.
The Scarlets coach revealed the 21-times capped international was still waiting for the B sample of his urine sample to be tested.
MacLeod's A sample showed a higher reading than the World Anti-Doping Agency's permitted level of testosterone during a routine test he gave to dope-busters at a Scotland training camp last season.
It is the second time inside a year the Scarlets player has been placed under investigation.
MacLeod appeared in front of a Scottish Rugby Union disciplinary panel in February after testing positive for a banned substance following a mix-up over an inhaler he was using to treat his asthma condition.
That test revealed the 29-year-old had been using a different brand from the one he had been granted a therapeutic use exemption by doping chiefs.
The three-man panel accepted there had been an administrative error and decided not to ban him. But MacLeod was formally warned and reprimanded.
The latest investigation is unrelated with UK Sport-approved drugs experts seeking to establish why a sample he provided showed excessive levels of testosterone.
MacLeod, an ever-present for Scotland during last season's Six Nations Championship, has denied any wrongdoing and asked for his B sample to be tested in an effort to prove his innocence
