We gave more than 2,700 flu shots in three hours last Saturday, which far surpassed our goal of 2,000. We anticipate another busy day giving these free flu shots to kids.
This year, flu shots are recommended for all children ages 6 months and older; adults 65 and older; and individuals with such chronic conditions as heart disease, cancer, asthma or diabetes. Others are also encouraged to get the vaccinations.
Vaccinations costing $25 also can be obtained by scheduling appointments at the health department's facilities at 805 Newtown Pike, 288-2483; and 2433 Regency Road, 899-5201. Walk-in flu shots are held at the Regency Road clinic from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
