Coastal Carolina Health Care has added its support to the Asthma Coalition of Eastern North Carolina's efforts to secure grant funding.
The coalition is part of the Asthma Alliance of North Carolina, a partnership of local and state government agencies, academic institutions, nonprofit groups and private industry working to address asthma through a public health approach.
As part of its efforts, Coastal Carolina Health Care pulmonologist David Maybee has agreed to serve as medical adviser for the coalition upon grant approval.
The purpose of grant funding is to develop programs designed to help support and strengthen community-based asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Coastal Carolina Health Care joins the area support of the grant-funding efforts which includes Craven County Health Department, MERCI Clinic, HOPE Clinic, Goshen Clinic, and Craven Regional Medical Center.
