Members show up to only the events that intrigue them, with as many as 13 or 14 members participating at the more popular events, she said.Different people show up for different activities, which keeps things interesting, she said.Reduce Your Use, meanwhile, is a way for Ms. Hardiman to spread a message of conservation and responsible behavior.Out of habit, we unconsciously do so many things that pollute the environment, she said. Our choices ... pollute our own communities, where it impacts our health with things like asthma, tumors and autoimmune problems.Ms. Hardiman said many people could reduce their impact on the environment with simple things like planting trees, buying automatic thermostats, reducing car usage, using re-usable items rather than disposable, and installing compact fluorescent light bulbs.Although the Reduce Your Use group is still small - about a dozen people - Ms. Hardiman encourages others to become members and join in the conversation, then invite your friends.But the thing that caused Ms. Anderson to nominate Ms. Hardiman was her personality and how she cares for other people.Shes got an energy thats contagious, Ms. Anderson said
